Mental Health and Wellbeing

Having difficulties with your mental health should not necessarily limit your chances in life. Our service creates opportunities for those who are experiencing, or have experienced, problems with their mental health.

We promote well-being through person-centred personal development. Whether you are looking for a training and development pathway or prefer a less structured environment including peer support, there will be something here to help you develop skills and confidence. Thriving art sessions come as standard!

Blackfriars Settlement and Community Green Champions Gardening Club

Tuesday 24th July 11:15 - 12:45
Meet here at Blackfriars Settlement and walk to
Redman Roots: a gardening session at Redman Green (off Borough High Street at junction of Lant St, SE1) to tend to the communal beds there. Will include what is a weed, weed identification, 'edible' weeds, good watering techniques, mulching.

Crossbones - Soil and Souls: A tour of this fascinating medieval burial ground (at junction of Union St and Redcross Way SE1), now a garden of remembrance. All soil here has been imported or made on site. An exploration of what soil is, how it's formed, importance of soil health for our own, how roots use soil to communicate with other plants and the 'art' of making soil-composting!

Reader's Group

Every Thursday from 15:30 to 17:00 the reading group meets to read and discuss a novel or poetry. ALL WELCOME.
