MENTAL HEALTH & WELLBEING

We promote well-being through helping to build confidence, make connections and relationships, learn new skills and peer support.

 The Mental Health & Wellbeing Service at Blackfriars Settlement offers our Thinking Ahead programme of free in-person groups/ activities and online zoom groups to help you to stay connected and active. Thriving art sessions come as standard as well as group discussions, social groups and outings throughout the year.

To attend activities, you’ll need to join the Thinking Ahead programme and complete a registration form.
You’ll then be invited in to meet us.

Accessible gentle yoga practices – includes postures/stretching & relaxation
Standing and chair based, with relaxation session to unwind – 45 mins facilitated by Renuka

Learning & support. Help with phones, tablets, laptops, zoom, emails, online & anything else IT.

A space to enjoy music and creativity. Listening, discussing, exploring through art

Build confidence through mindfulness & relaxation.

Woodwork mixed group
Join our skilled woodwork tutor and master craftsmen Hugh in a friendly group to learn, design, plan and make something out of wood to take home. Recent projects include a foot stool, picture frames, mug holder and lots more.
Cost: £20 per session via personal budgets.

Women only group
Soft crafts – Crochet, Knit, Weaving
Join our skilled soft craft tutor for many years in a small, friendly group, working 1:1 with personal designs. Jumpers, dresses, bags, etc Cost: £20 per session via personal budgets.

THURSDAY @Blackfriars Centre

Peer Led – Cost of Living group & Look up Tech Club
Discussion group to share local news within a peer-led supportive environment. 

13:00-15:00

 

Creative Space Make Do & Mend
Repair, reuse, recycle, restore, refresh old clothes and materials to make new.

13:30-15:00

Creative writing: group exploring themes together: write, listen, discuss, share.
